Re-bore re-drilling of existing borewells

Re-boring (or re-drilling) is the process of using an existing borewell location to: Deepen the bore Clean and reopen collapsed sections Or drill slightly offset from the old bore using the same casing area It’s usually done when a borewell has low yield or gone dry. Common methods Deepening the same bore Drill further down to reach deeper aquifers Works only if casing is intact and diameter allows Re-drilling inside existing casing Limited success; mainly for cleaning silted bores Side-tracking (offset drilling) New bore drilled 1–3 meters away from the old one Most successful option in hard rock areas

A borewell is a deep, narrow well drilled into the ground to reach underground water (groundwater). Pipes are inserted into the drilled hole, and water is drawn out using pumps. Borewells are commonly used where surface water (like rivers or tanks) is insufficient or unavailable.Borewells are a lifeline for water supply, especially in areas where surface water is limited. Proper drilling, responsible water usage, and regular maintenance are essential to ensure sustainable groundwater use.
